We spent 8 days on a cruise through the Galapagos. On our second day, we went to Genovesa Island for bird watching. To be honest, we went with little anticipation as we were on this trip more for the penguins and other marine life. But then we saw all of the gorgeous birds and fell in love.
While Siem Reap and Phnom Penh are more famous for tourism, the riverside town of Kampot in Southern Cambodia is a relaxing retreat from busy city life. Before heading to one of the local pepper farms, we visited one of the local market to understand where people buy and sell everything and anything.
We went diving in M'Pai Bay in Cambodia and a curious Batfish followed us around for 20 minutes. Here's some footage of the best moments.
Koh Rong is an island 25 kilometers from Sihanoukville in Southern Cambodia. While it only takes 30 minutes fast ferry to get here from the city, most of the island is still relatively untouched by tourism. Blogs talk about the pristine beaches, but google “sand flies koh rong” and our worst nightmare is described.
We love taking a cooking class in the cities we visit. It gives us a real sense of the local culture and bringing home recipes helps us keep the memories alive. This time around, we learned to make green curry, fry up prawns in a tamarind sauce, and grind up a spicy papaya salad.
